In our interview series, we talk to the chads of Crypto Twitter — people that share the best alpha and have won the community’s respect. This time we’re talking to permissionlessness.eth, a core contributor at Kromatika Finance, and a chad sharing alpha about L2s and upcoming airdrops.

Follow:

How long have you been in crypto & what was your first investment?

I first heard about crypto in 2020 and bought my first coins DOT and UNI, and some other coins for a total investment of around $5000. But I really got into crypto and started to research DeFi full-time in March of 2022 with a focus on L2s.

Full-time or part-time?

Full-time

What did you do before crypto?

Student — doing my finals now. I study mechatronics engineering.

What’s your research process for new protocols and airdrops?

I focus on L2s because I believe in the future of ETH and L2s. I missed ETH from earlier days (2016–17), and I don’t want to miss L2s. I mostly look at Optimism, Arbitrum, Zksync, Starknet ecosystems (and other L2s). The way I do my research is that I focus on the ecosystem and look into new protocols and test them out. And keep my eye on them and look into them deeply. I will join the discord, read the WP, read docs, and try to get all the info that I can get and engage with the community. And then write about them to my followers to share what I have learned.

Any example of how much $$ you’ve made from airdrops?

With Optimism I made around $2000. I missed Aptos airdrop, but I believe in other L2s that haven’t launched a token yet, it’ll be huge just like $OP or far more.

What are some of the best airdrops historically?

ENS, ParaSwap, and DYDX

What’s your current favourite DeFi protocol?

Bungee — most bridges have a very limited choice of assets. Bungee is a bridge aggregator and it helps to find the cheapest and the fastest routes at any given moment to bridge funds. There are tons of different tokens that users can choose from.

It also has a gas refuel function, which enables users to move gas from one chain to another.

Bridge users commonly experience issues like running out of gas while bridging assets either on the source or destination chain, so this is a cool feature that’ll shape the cross-chain technology.

Kromatika- Unlike Uniswap, this is the best MetaDEX aggregator in DeFI with innovative features like FELO (Fees Earning Limit Order), no price slippage & Gasless mode.

Will there be a DeFi for degens in 5 years?

DeFi will be permissionless, and there will be DeFi for degens. Blockchain is supposed to be decentralized. They’re fighting to make DeFi permissioned. If DeFI is permissioned, controlled or regulated, then it’s not DeFi. DeFihas to maintain its core principles like trustlessness, transparency/security, non-custodial, and anonymity and must exist as permissionless in the future.

You can only own one — BTC, USD, or ETH — which one do you choose?

ETH without a doubt.

Most underrated protocol in terms of impact on the whole DeFi space?

Kromatika. A whole new evolution and reshaping the future of DEXes in DeFI, launching of perp derivatives like GMX, its gasless makes it possible to trade asset without paying gas fees in $ETH.

Definitely a game-changer

1–3 accounts people must follow on Twitter?

rektdiomedes, Derivatives_Ape, TheDeFIedge

Which crypto chad would you like us to interview next & what’s one question you want us to ask them?

Vitalik — and there are too many things I would like to ask. Mainly around the future of L2s and how the ETH ecosystem will evolve.
