How long have you been in crypto & what was your first investment?
I started in crypto in 2019 and was an early ETH miner until selling my rigs in 2021. The first investment was Ethereum.
Full-time or part-time?
Part-time. I still slave in the fiat mines with a normie job.
What did you do before crypto?
I was an electrical engineer before beginning work in healthcare.
You’ve got a number of different tokens mentioned in your bio — which is your strongest conviction and why?
I think, other than Ethereum, UMAMI is probably my strongest conviction token because I have worked closely with the community to restructure the protocol into something that I would want to use myself. The team is composed of young, hungry chads who genuinely care about the DeFi space and about the product. They care about their users’ investments like it's their own…and ultimately that is what I want from any project.
Will there be a DeFi for degens in 5 years?
Yes, I do believe there will be DeFi for degens…but I believe it will likely be regulated to the fringe of DeFi as the space becomes more regulated. Regulation is a double-edged sword IMO. I believe it will potentially hinder innovation but will increase user adoption of blockchain technology as protocols become more user-friendly to normies (and less likely to rug).
You can only own one — BTC, USD, or ETH — which one do you choose?
ETH
Most underrated protocol in terms of impact on the whole DeFi space?
Curve for sure. Curve acts as a lynchpin of DeFi liquidity for stablecoins and v2 pools. Although their price action doesn’t reflect it at present, Curve is an example of being a liquidity kingmaker that is augmented by their flywheel partner, Convex.
In one of your tweets you recommended checking out Futureverse — why Futureverse and do you think gaming/NFT infrastructure is the next big thing?
No pun intended, but Futureverse is quite the rabbit hole. It is an ecosystem that has been built by over 300 people and is composed of more than 50 protocols and infrastructure that are truly unique to the space. They are heavily funded with an insane valuation that has yet to be disclosed… and they have built a substrate-based alt L1 known as the Root Network that is optimized for Unreal Engine 5 gaming/metaverse projects with full EVM support to permit microtransactions, cross-chain comms and decentralized identity verification.
I do believe that gaming/NFT infrastructure will be a big narrative going forward. The gaming industry had a TAM of 220Billion as of 2020 per Fortune. Blockchain-based gaming has not yet managed to penetrate the traditional console gaming or mobile gaming markets…Futureverse partnerships will do both and allow for diverse exposure to Futureverse-associated assets like Fluf World, Seekers, Cool cats, etc.
1–3 accounts people must follow on Twitter?
– Head of Research at the TIE

– FA analyst for BlockTower
Which crypto chad would you like us to interview next & what’s one question you want us to ask them?
Haym is one of the hardest working people I know in DeFi. Id like to know how he finds the time to do some amazing research threads and graphics while working FT as well.
